"A masked group of police provocateurs caused clashes during the Independence March. After a peaceful march organised by President Bronislaw Komorowski, Civic Platform politicians and the governmental media needed to show clashes during the Independence Marsh organised by right-wing organisations. Police provocateurs helped to do so. They tried to provoke clashes an hour before the March started" ...
"The gathering demonstrators behaved in a very peaceful way so this time the provocation failed. The reporter of the "Gazeta Polska" managed to film the masked policemen who, according to witnesses, started the clashes by throwing firecrackers at the police. Marian Kowalski, the spokesman for one of the organisers of the march, supported the demonstrators at the right moment by starting to sing the Polish National Anthem and by addressing common policemen. The police used a new weapon, firecrackers making a lot of noise, normally used by anti-terrorists and special police units. Also plastic bullets and tear gases were used - the latter ones - against a lot of women and children. After 30 minutes the March re-started and followed its planned route."
